A Life Enough
A Life Enough is a sapphic metered poem written along side Jean-Baptiste-Camille's work rendered in Decker, completing it as an interactive fiction piece. All artwork is in the public domain, except for my poem - which was written by me! Please enjoy it written below for your enjoyment.
This was created for the 2026 Neo-Twiny Jam, coming in at around 272 words. It is also very sapphic in nature beyond the poem type... so happy pride!
A Life Enough
Will you recall me when I am gone?
You will weep and look for me, o’ your heart
sundered. Divine will keeps us mortal and yet --
winter, I could be
the first snow and replace Boreas and his
duties to bring a gentle death. You
whisper, a cry, as the chill holds fast if not
spring; Persephone
is born anew. I raise myself beside her
- I would not call us sisters, I would not dare -
but I would call for something softer, mercy,
but maybe -- summer.
Will you attribute my warmth to wrath;
instilled drought in the throes of a war, battle
in which I beg -- ‘O Athena let my love
devastate, and yet --
autumn, when I return to you, wax and waning,
my heart remains complacent. Opora gifts
the bounty, however she did not gift me.
I quote you, beloved--
“Someone, I tell you, will remember us,
even in another time.”
But will you remember me? Perhaps once in
a life enough.
